240 cooling system pressure

The peculiar noise those make always gets my attention. Especially while they are cooling, maybe 10 min after shutting off the motor. The rad hoses are not firm then, so I figure the cap is admitting air into the system as the coolant contracts some. A head gasket problem that would blow through the pressure cap would most likely make the hoses firm well before the normal warm up time for the coolant - before the radiator got warm.
