Looping Idle

I have a 89 240 dl station wagon. Lately check engine light came on and codes show bad O2 sensor. Will replace that tomorrow, however, recently the engine has begun to loop when it is idleing. It does not hesitate while accelarating though. It all began after I took the exhaust off to replace a gasket in the exhaust that was leeking. I doubt that is related but I'll throw it in the mix just in case. I suspect maybe vacuum issue but I sprayed starter fluid around and didn't notice any change. It is definitely a looping idle though and not a rough one. Please send help!
