Gearbox 1800es(1973) & 122 (1973) 1800

In addition to what Blue Horse said....

basically, yes. Any gearbox from a B18 or B20 car will bolt up to the engine fine. Use the original bell housing for your car *unless* your new box is the M410, but that's unlikely if it's out of any year ending with a '3'.

Furthurmore, the shift linkage might be different twixt your ES and whatever the donor car happens to be (likely will be unless your new box is from a late 1800E or ES). *But*... the transmission covers are interchangeable.. so use your original transmission cover and linkage. That holds true for M41/M410.. totally different gearbox, but the covers are interchangeable.

Main issue you might encounter is the driveshaft flange size. Check it before you start... seems there are about 4 different possibilities, though only two common ones. Large and small. Your ES probably has the large type.

There may also be differences in drive shaft length, so check that too.
