OIL PUMP going bad symptoms. 900

My b230 on a 93/940 has developed a new habit. After driving a while, coming to a stop and idling for a minute or so I can hear a sound with an eco on the driver side of the engine. Goes away as soon as I press the gas a little. I wonder if the oil pump is not pumping right at idle speed. What are the symptom of an Oil pump going bad? Pressure indicator has not come on yet anyway. Thanks to all :)
