knocking diagonistic 900 1996

I have a 1996 964 with a knocking sound coming from the front suspension, driver side. It's been happening for about 6months. I hear it when driving 40mph or less when applying or releasing the break pedal. Also, at a complete stop, I'll hear it knock the split second after releasing the pedal. I've changed the following parts within the last 1,000 miles:

Struts Right and Left
Mounts/Bearings Right and Left
Ball joints Right and Left
Sway bar Right
Control Arms Right and Left
Lower Control Arm Bushings Right and Left
Rotors and Brake Pads Right and Left

My Left (driver side) sway bar looks good. I have a feeling something it maybe coming from the brakes. So my question is, could the clips and pins in the brake calipers cause a knocking sound?

thanks in advance
