ignition switch replacement - how to proceed? 700 1989

I would like to say this job is easy but as Herb and Randy know
it is a pain in the _ss !!!

Only due to the access of the bottom screw about 1/2 inch long.
Yes you need a little mirror on a 6 inch handle and a light source and most importantly a short, 1/4 inch wide flat head screwdriver. and a telescoping magnet in case you drop the screw.

When you remove the instrument cluster (first pop off the two thin horizontal plastic cover plates there is one Phillips head screw on the each lower side of the panel) (you may want to take a digital photo before removing the 7 different electrical connectors so you have no concerns about putting it back together) but most of them only can fit on one way...

I is actually just one of those jobs requiring patience. Could take you a half hour or an hour and a half depending on dexterity.

Thanks to all,

Maui
