Limiting strap failure after only a few days? 120-130

I have been using a set of these bought from E-bay (I think it was the same seller, Olaf) and they have been thru several 'tensioning' sessions when the full axle weight plus the spring was supported in the last year with no problems.
If you don't get the sheet metal 'J' shaped parts aligned (top - not included with mine) I could see where they could be subject to a sharp edge abrasion and fail.
How they failed will tell you something, is the failure aroung the bottom hole, by the J shaped part mentioned above, in the middle, or at the top connection?

Just my .02
