There might have been a bad batch of straps produced. I too experienced failure on a new limiting strap after less than six months of use. The car was never left jacked up for more than a couple of hours at a time. I do like to take a little speed over hills but not enough to get airborne!

The straps weren't expensive so a new set was installed and the premature strap failure was forgotten until now. The replacement straps seem to be doing fine.
