Okay, here's the second installment of my no start dilemma on my 83 245 with B23 eng. If you look to the last post(Project car won't start. Where to begin?) you'll see that ODGuru replied and directed me to the Bentley manual pg.280-8 and 280-9 (To test Volvo/Chrysler ignition system) which is where I started. Okay, everything checked good down until item #3. I have no voltage at terminal #2. It goes on to say "if any faults are found check the wiring connector". The connector seems to be seated in the unit well enough but I have one concern. As I mentioned in my earlier post the ignition harness that I am using is from another car and the control unit is from a different car as well. It also says in this section not to disconnect the connector from the unit or you'll need to replace the wiring harness. So could this be my problem? I tried looking at the wiring diagram on pg.390-17 at item# 210 in section N3(ignition control unit) and tried to see where the wire traced back to and next to the wire that comes off of terminal #2 ends and there's the number 110/11 IN next to it. What does this mean? I don't have a clue. Also, on a related note, I went on to step #4 and checked power to the coil between terminal # 15 and ground. That checked good- 12V. But I also checked between terminal #1 on the coil (the other post on the coil) and it read 12V power too. Is this correct? I found it kind of odd that both terminals were at the same voltage. So, does anyone have any insights into where to go next with this thing? I'd really appreciate any and all input into helping me solve this problem. Sorry for the long post and thanks for y'alls time and patience.
