Surging Idle fixed 200 1991

Idle was surging 500-2000 RPM on about a 4 second interval when cold. This settled down to a rough 3-cyl idle when warm.

Tore about everything from the air box to the head this weekend. Checked every vacuum path.

Turned out that the intake manifold gasket that I put on a year ago had disintegrated. Wish I recalled the brand, so I could warn others to avoid. All I recall is that the whole gasket set was made in a northern European country from which I had not previously seen car parts (Norway?).

This does not give me a warm feeling about the head gasket that I put on from that gasket set.

The car purrs like a kitten now.

I also put on new injector O-rings. That was a waste of money. The original O-rings looked and felt exactly like the new ones.
