Before I replace my transmission... 200

I would try the FAQ-described tranny flush, using El Cheapo ATF, before doing other things.

Takes very little equipment. A neoprene hose with ID to slip over the outflow fitting on the radiator - it's the top fitting, if I recall correctly.

A clamp to hold the hose onto the fitting.

A funnel to put into the tranny dipstick tube for dumping in new ATF.

Seven or eight empty 2-liter soda bottles. Do a trial fit to see that the neoprene hose will fit into the opening on the bottle. If it won't, rig up a funnel or fitting. Be sure that there is a way for air to come out as the fluid goes in.

New ATF, have 12 quarts handy, even it they are not all needed. Beter too much than too little.

Helps to have a helper.

Once the flush is over, take the 2-Liter bottles to AutoZone or similar to get rid on them.

Good Luck,

Bob
