AMM question 700 1989

Just a quick question about AMM's...

Are they backwards compatible?

I have an 89 740T that wouldn't run. Unplugged the AMM and it started right up. Easy diagnosis...

But I tried 4 different 007 AMM's, and none of them would work! Granted they are all junkyard finds, so they could all be bad.

The best part is this: I plugged up an 016 AMM from an LH2.4 car, and the 89 started right up, and drove fine!

I will try to find a known good working 007 AMM to try, but does anyone know if I can run the 016 temporarily?

Thanks- Kerry
