An Age Old Question... 140-160 1970

I hate to follow in others footsteps and ask the question: "What wheels fit my old Brick?", but I am afraid I must. The vehicle is a 1970 164. First, I am looking at upgrading the wheels in conjuction with a sway bar upgrade as a handling improvement, not asthetics. I know that the 140-160 cars up until 1975 had wheels with 43mm offset and around 4.25" backspace. Also, I know 2/7/900 cars had wheels ranging from 20-25mm offset depending on year and model. But what about the FWD cars? Don't they use about 40mm offset? Won't fitting wheels such as Dracos or Virgos negatively impact handling? I would like to find a set of wheels with the correct offset to minimize tire/ball joint/upper control arm bushing wear. Has anyone tried fitting 15" wheels from the 850/S70 to one of our cars? I really like the looks of the Spica alloy wheel which is 15x6.5", but would really like to know if it will fit before I make a purchase...
Thanks a million,
Nick
