Got taillights to all light up, now stay on when headlights are on...HELP! 200 1992

I replaced a tail light brake bulb today and got all brake lights working again for the first time in months. Bulb failure light would light up everytime brake was depressed before then. Also, just as of a couple of days ago, the darn bulb failure light on the dash began staying lit when the headlights were turned on, yet both headlights work fine, none recently replaced. The bulb failure light would turn off when the headlights were turned out but would relight when headlights turned on or the brake pedal was pressed. I decided to take out the bulb failure light all together, and did just that today. I removed the bulb and it's little holder that fastens into the back of the guage cluster. Now I have completely working brake lights in back with headlights off, but when I turn on the headlights on the brake lights remain on. Could someone point me in the right direction regarding how to cure my problem. Many thanks.

Oh, Also, when headlights are off, when I press the brakes now, the front parking lamps illuminate too. I feel like a rolling christmas tree.
