Turbo head install 1st or exhaust/turbo in first? 200 1984

They are a bit of a bitch to snake out past the head but trust me on this one, it can be done. If you do not want to hassle that then I would think that laying the manifold/turbo assembly in first and off to the side and then setting the head down would work. Another trick that works real well is to cut an old serpentine belt and slide it under the camshaft and use it as a handle to hold the back of the head up while you carefully set the head on the block. Install the studs in the head while you have it out and on the bench.

Yes, the mechanical injectors have seals, just like any other CI injected head, should be a thin one about the size of a quarter and a small thick one about the size and shape of a fruit loop or cheerio.

No, there should not be any distributor seals in the Elring kit, it is one large O ring and if you have not pulled the dist yet you might find it to be a bit of a bitch too and some good penetrant is probably in order here.

Good Luck,
Mark
