Reproducible: stall under high rpm and acceleration (no other problems) 700 1990

'90 740, aw71, 170k, bosch.

Only driveability problem is under acceleration and high rpm (around 5k rpm), car will lose power, tachometer rpm drops to 2k, wait until stopped. Restart car, drive away with no problems.

This has happened three times, and I could go outside and get it to happen again whenever I want.

I replaced fuel and air filter. From reading the faqs, I'm guessing ignition coil (power stage) or fuel injection relay. But, since the problem does not exist when stopped, I'm not sure how to debug.

I would like to know what I should do next?

Thanks,
Nathan
