Freeze 12 Upgrade - A/C Condenser - Trying to charge using the low pressure valve - Not enough room? 700 1989

I'm trying to upgrade my 1989 740 Turbo wagon to Freeze 12 - if you can call it an upgrade - It consists of fitting adapters and a sticker. The kit came with new fittings for the high pressure and low pressure valves on the condenser and I have those on. So I'm trying to charge using the low pressure valve - and there is not enough room for the hose fitting before I run into the steering box (it's either the steering box or else motor mount.) Any suggestions?

thx
