Timken front wheel bearing seals 200 1992

Hello Brickboard,

Is there anyone out there who has successfully installed Timken front wheel bearing seals on their 240 and can provide me with step-by-step instructions?

The new seals look very different from the old ones, and don't seat in the bearing race like the old ones did, so I just slid them onto the spindle before installing the rest of the bearing/race assembly (please forgive my poor command of the technical vocabulary). This seemed like the only way to do it, but it'd be great to have some confirmation before I hit the road on a 3,000+ mile journey from NC to Santa Fe.

Thanks,

-David
