240 interittent choking.. then engine dies.. won't resart 200 1989

If under a half tank, I agree, split in-tank-hose. If the tank is full, suspect the fuel pump relay. It is located above the ignition control module on the passenger side firewall, white in color and held in place with a spring clip. The ICM is a big black plastic block. This may sound like a joke, but the next time the car dies, open the passenger side front door and slam it shut, if it starts and runs okay after that for a bit, the fuel pump relay (FPR) is 90% your problem!

I know, caveman diagnostics sound wierd, but when a car dies, tempers flare and doors get slammed!
