Hi all,
my 1983 242DL has a steady kind of clatter when accelerating. You can hear it best with the windows down and when you're only going about 25mph. I haven't noticed it as much on higher speeds, but I do know that itz there when I'm accelerating- especially if itz a hard or pushing down on the gas acceleration. My dad has kept saying itz engine knocking or something and I am using the cheap fuel, but itz a DL, nonturbo- so it shouldn't neeed a higher grade right? That and it doesn't have a single mod or upgrade on it... yet. So yeah, I don't know if itz something loose, the engine knocking, the tranny, what. So if anyone has any idea- I'd like to hear it, cause the clatter is annoying and a bit embarrasing when my brother's brick is quiet and smooth accelerating! Thanks again all!
