Blowing coolant from pressure cap, temp gauge never sez too hot, whazzup? S90-V90 1997

Car is 1997 965 with 169K miles.

Usually noticeable after a 5-15 mile drive at freeway speeds, if I happen to look under the hood. Enough heat in the engine bay to evaporate leakage, but there is evidence galore of coolant coming out of the pressure cap and running down the tank.

I have never seen it gush, or seen the area actually wet. The dried evidence changes over time, so it is not just old stuff.

Car in on Volvo antifreeze, diluted to 50/50 with distilled water.

Any ideas of possible causes and course of action?

Many thanks,

Bob
