Gas Tank Static Pressure 200

Is there any pressure held in by the gas tank? I found my bung nut loose and wires that pass through the sending unit/tank pump housing dangling through the three milimeter hole. Not to good huh? The tank is clean and painted now , and I found a nifty fitting with rubber insert that the wires pass through for the housing. I am wondering if there is any pressure that the tank holds that might pop my small rubber piece out of its fitting. Thanks, KP and the 1988 240DL.
