alloy wheels 200 1992

I just bought a '92 240 GL. I need some help. The car has 185 by 70 by 14 inch tires and steel rims on it now.

I would like to put 15 or 16 inch (16" prefered) alloy wheels on it, but there are no way I can afford to spend $700.00 on rims. At the local re-cycled auto parts store (junk yard) I can buy alloy rims for $100.00 per set. I know enough about life to pick out rims in good shape but don't know about things like width and off set.

Do you know, and if so can you tell me, are ther any alloy rims off Fords GM or Chrysler that will work? I seem to remember reading years ago that some Chrysler rims worked on the 240 but that was a long time ago. If you don't have specific recommendations can you give me size, width, offset, ect. Information that will help me find alloy rims I can afford
