has anyone ever replaced a window regulator in a 700? 700 1991

I am pretty certain that I need a new regulator for my daughter's driver's side window...

it is crunching as it goes up and down. I have taken the door apart and it looks as if I have a metal regulator with riveted mounts holding it to the door.

has anyone ever removed these rivets and successfully used bolts to hold a replacement regulator in?

and if so have you used a new or used replacement? are there disadvantages to getting a regluator out of the junkyard?
