95 940 timing belt 900 1995

I recently bought a 90 940 with 77k on it . The only part of the timing cover on it was the top and a broken bottom, I am now putting on a new belt and all the timing covers. I think I have things lined up right but am confused as to the intermediate shaft.Does its position really matter on a rear distributor mounted engine. The intermediate shaft sprocket has the marking on the back. Do I need to worry? Thanks Joe
