turnign on heater causes rough idle 700 1991

I have a 91 740 turbo and have noticed that when i turn on the heater/defroster it causes a poor idle.

when the heater is off the car idles very well. i have recently replaced most of the vacuum lines, the valve cover gasket, plugs(ngk) cap and rotor (bosch) and the wires (bogicord [sic]), air filter (mann)and i have also removed and cleaned the throttle body and the AMM.

i've owned it for about a year and it is a daily driver, it is running better now than it has to date.

the only issue is when i turn on the heater the idle starts to bounce between 600 and 900 and will somtimes drop below 500. when its off its a pretty solid 750.

does anyone have any idea about this? i am thinking it could be the voltage regulator on the altenator which is original or possiblya lousy connection fo the ground straps?

i do need a new blower motor as it makes a fair amoutn of noise.

thanks for the help

mike s
