Inner tie rods suck 200 1993

I just replaced my passenger side inner tie rod because it flopped around like a noodle, I may do the driver's side too before I have the car aligned.

Who designed these things?? The whole business of "staking" the metal to keep it from coming off - that alone is silly when a pin or lock nut could have done the same. But to point the damn staked section nearly straight up so you can neither remove it nor restake while the rack is on the car is moronic.

The entire operation went smoothly except that part. I used a little blue locktite and did my best to stake the collar, I can't tell if I got enough metal beat down to keep the tie rod on; Will the thread locker be enough even if my staking was sub-par?

Guess I'll find out.
