Clock runs on pwr supply ; only intermittantly in car 700

So what's up with that?

I pulled the nice big clock from the '87 Turbo's dash and ran it all night on my workbench from a 12vdc power supply. Fantastic; keeps great time.

RE: the posts about poor conductivity from wave soldering on Volvo dashes, I put a bit of solder on the washers at the CB connection/mount for the clock, then reinstalled the whole dash unit.

The clock ran great for over an hour, then returned to the old behavior of running when it 'felt' like it. While the radio has a clock, I just like my cars to work; every part of them. Besides, I have to push a button for radio time and this big old dash clock is, well, right there!
