automatic shift kit for 240T intercooler install

Is there anyone on this board familiar with the automatic transmission kits that change the shift point on earlier 240T's being upgraded with intercoolers? I came across such a kit a while back and had it installed on an 83 240T that just acquired an intercooler for the first time. The increase in power is impressive, but the car now shifts hard to 3rd around 40 mph and the shift to 4th occurs at over 50 mph. This seems a bit excessive. How much change should I expect here? And what to do next? The transmission is an AW71. Observations/feedback much appreciated. Thanks.

Guri R
