245DL Tailgate Alignment 200 1986

Hello Bricksters,

Last weekend fixed the broken wire to my center brake light in my 86 245DL. Loosened the bolts in the roof to allow room to fish a new wire to splice in. With that done after putting it all back together the tailgate rubbed. Loosed both side and well it is a whole lot worse not.

Any tips or tricks to aligning the hinges. Right now it is lower than before and I was loosing ground. Should have marked the mounts before starting the job.

Thanks in advance for your advice.

Regards,

PT
