Exhaust Header Pipe Problem 200 1988

First thought is they're giving you the wrong part. The header shape changed with at least one model year, but I can't say which. Look at FCP Groton's on line catalog to compare years and models. You might just order one from them before you take back yours. Compare on the floor.

If it turns out you do have the right part, you have a lot of company in complaints about the build quality of aftermarket header pipes. I can't recommend any particular brand. Mostly on this board you hear stories on Starla (aka Walker) and Bosal.

The shims are supposed to correct u-joint angles in the drive train.
