The only time I have had problems connecting to the BB I had to go back and clear out the cookies in IE. Your problem sounds a little different but it might help.

However, the BB simply will not allow me to upload an image to the server, regardless of size or format. The last image I tried to upload I changed from JPG to TIFF and finally tried JPEG at 29Kbytes. No luck. I have given up and just link from my website whenever I want to display an image.
