New volvo owner...need info and advice 700 1991

I just bought a used 1991 volvo 740. Someone is selling a 740 tubrbo engine B230 from a 1987 wagon. Can they be switched? I can also pick up a 1990 740 wagon with OD transmision, model is 03-71 (borg warner?) The prices on the parts are real good, and I know I need to get an OD solenoid for the Volvo I just bought.
