240 sway bar bushing install 200 1988

So i installed front sway bars from IPD, using the bushings that they supplied. When i screwed the bushings on the tie rods though, the bushings didn't seat correctly. They were kind of crooked, and squished on one side, sticking out on another. I tried taking a photo of it off my iPhone if this helps. Sorry bad lighting, but you can see the bushings poking out the top and bottom

I want to know if this is safe, and if i should continue tightening it? or am i doing something wrong?
