And with a "D" cam...



The D is much quicker, IMHO, it's too quick for an exhaust lobe if you want it to last for a very long time. On both my road & race cams I go for .001" on the inlet, .003" for an exhaust. If you are building a serious track only engine, you can use a quick cam on the exhaust, but they sometimes won't survive even the break-in period.

Notice too how the K is 4 degrees smaller than the D at .020" & .050", but it's actually bigger from seat to seat because it is more gentle. You can use a K cam with stock springs, but the D is too rough for them. Most people don't know that the spring for the D cammed engines are stiffer than the usual A,B,C & K (although I guess you would)
