I have a 14.4V Dewalt, and it will rattle it's butt off without success(or until I get tired of waiting) trying to loosen a Lug Nut. So then I loosen it manually. It works great once the nut is loose, or to put the lugnuts on to lower the car so that you can manually torque them.

Remember, that it is using a lot of amperage from the battery while trying to loosen a nut, so you won't get a long run-time.

Better than that was a Black and Decker 12V that had clips to attach to the car battery. It was the standard 120V unit with a 12V motor inside, which may have been why it was good. Of course, having the car battery gave it almost a limitless run-time.

I know a little bit about this since I worked for B&D/Dewalt for 23 years.
