No start before or after Weber conversion 140-160

He mentioned that he has the Pertronix system ie. electronic ignition.

I've installed one in my 240, but keep the points and condensor on board, as I've read that the Pertronix may suddenly fail probably without warning.

So it might be a good idea to drop a points and condensor back in.

It does seem electrical in nature and may be a loose connection from coil to distributor.

I don't think it is plug wires. To check, with a spare plug, pull a wire, attach to plug and ground plug while turning over engine to see if good spark is there. If spark is good then look at timing being off.
