b21ft head gasket replacement 200 1983

so i am looking into buying an 83 245ti with a slight head gasket leak. i've never done a head gasket before but i am relatively mechanically inclined and i think i'm up to the task. what i'd like to know is in addition to the head gasket, is there anything else i should replace while the head is off? does the turbo have any special tricks for doing a r&r on the head gasket? thanks!
