Hello,
I replaced a light bulb in one of the rear plate lights('93 sedan). On the right side. It blew a fuse as I was putting the bracket back in the slot, probably because the lights were on while I did this. And now both the front and rear parking lights on the left side of the car are not working anymore. I replaced the fuse. The second one blew out as well as soon as I turned the lights on. No rear left parking lights, no license plate lights. Ticket bait, not to mention safety problem.
Before getting it to the repair shop, anything I should look for on my own? I don't have another 8amp spare fuse, but I would like to try remove the other license plate light bulb, change the fuse again, and see if the fuse holds.
These are both scan tech license bulb holders. The originals had rotted out last year.
I couldn't get the proper ones that came with the car because the dealer didn't have them. Apparently the originals were maybe European(or maybe put in by the previous owner)? They had a plastic socket for the bulb holder, and not the exposed works with the little 90deg rotating arm that makes loose contact with the center contact of the bulb.
Thanks in advance.
