max safe boost 900

Hi there brickheads. I am considering getting a 944T in the near future. I was wondering what the max factory boost level is as well as what the max safe boost level is without internal modification. I have been reading extensively on water/ethanol injection and think that in conjuction with a nice electronic boost controller that ethanol injection (for use at Wide open throttle) could yeild impressive power increases for short bursts. Is anyone here using anything of the sort? I am after maximum flexibility and would love to be able to dial the boost way down on the highway, but up again when feeling saucey. Also what is the expected life span of a factory turbo? that is given that the oil change intervals were respected.
That all being said...i am not in a rush here as the old 244 is still running pretty well....she just looks beat.
