Transmission compatability

hello

a mechanic installed a used 940 AW-71 tranny in my 1986 240
it has a lock-up transmission

he said this was a direct bolt on replacement

i know very little about the lock-up
i think
the lock-up is between the torque converter and main transmission

it locks up around 49 miles per hour

it has been a great replacement experience
