Still no start and no spark 140-160

All excellent advice there. For a quick check before you get all your tools out it's easy to get a basic TDC on #1 assuming the dizzy hasn't been out. All plugs out, dizzy cap off, turn engine till rotor points to the small notch in the rim of the dizzy, about 10 o'clock as you look down on it. This position is plug #1. Check timing notch on front pully is close to the timing pointer on the block. If it isn't turn engine another 360 degrees and it should then line up. Turn the engine to about 10 degrees, turn dizzy so that rotor matches the notch and retighten clamp. with the points are closed, you might need to turn the engine a bit, switch on the ignition and flick the points open with a screwdriver. You should get a small spark, shows better out of the sun. If you get a big splashy spark you might have a duff condenser. No spark? Time to get your meter out but these first checks only take a few minutes.
