hinges replaced, now hood won't open 200

I feel like a complete idiot. Replaced both hinges on my 93 240. Scribed some lines in the hood, so the hood would "line up" when I placed it back on. Well I thought the hood was lined up and shut it. Well low and behold, the hood is shifted over to the drivers side far enough that the hood does not open. I have the front grill off, and I see the hood release releasing. The hoos goes up a little bit, but not all the way. It appears that the hood is so far over that the pin i sticking on the opening on the right side. Any ideas to open the hood? And no, I can't drive it anywhere, since I am in the middle of the timing belt change. I also tried to take the pin off, but the slot got enlarged and doesn't work as a slot any more.
