But do MB trannies have an "overfill" vent or valve?

I too have read of the vent in the AW tranmissions in the Volvo service literature. Sort of like a magical thing little thing that I've never heard of otherwise. I've never had an AW out of the car to look for myself.

I've never trusted that these indeed work, are ubiquitous on AW's, or haven't been clogged after nearly 20 years of service.
