Good for you! The cross bars and part (plug) that fits into the filler neck are very simple. I used thru bolts into the 'handle' (the thing that has the Volvo engraved on it) to fasten everything together. There is a rubber (neoprene) gasket used to weatherproof the base of flood lights that is almost the perfect size for the gasket - it is available at most hardware/home depot type stores.
