Looking at a '93 240 200

Newbie dumb question - the question is dumb b/c I haven't even see the car yet, but let me know what you think. I spoke with a dealer (100 mi away) who has a 93 240 sedan with only 80K miles for $3K. This is what he says is wrong - valve cover leak, hood won't close by passenger hinge, A/C either doesn't blow cold. Other than that he claims it is in good shape. I can do most minor repairs and I think I could handle these problems. I've changed a compressor/dryer/o-tube on a GM before, so I THINK I could do the A/C. He claims that the hood looks straight and it doesn't look like the car was wrecked. Is it likely that the hinge wasn't lubed and someone just jammed the hood shut? Is the hinge replacement and lining up of the hood an easy DIY-job or would I need to go to shop?

What do you think is a fair price, given the little amount of info I have? What are the other problem areas for this year? Any rust problems?
