Fouled plugs/no start/regina engine 700 1990

my plugs continually get fouled w/gas .&it starts for a sec .&then won't start.
I have a new cat,oxygen sensor,cap&rotor,plugs,wires,2 fuel pumps,have not been able to start for the last 2wks.
When I changed the main fuel pump ,on the frame,I wonder if I got the wires mixed up?
Its off a 20 245&has a yellow post&a black one.The same part no.as my 740.It ws put on at the muffler shop&the knucklehade who put the header pipe on 2 mos.ago forgot to reattach the oxy.sen.,so I got them to give me a new oxy.sensor&paid for a new cat.HE PUT THE ORANGE WIRE ON THE BLK.POST&THE BLK.ONE ON THE ORANGE POST.
The car wouldn't stop after that&I had to get it towed home.Can anyone say what colors wire are attached to what posts on their fule pump??
i assume its blk.to blk&then the orange wire to the yellow post.
Anyone have an idea what could be the problem???
