Annoying fuel problem 120-130

Yes, you can rebuild the fuel pump (early style) and replace the "check" valves. Some early glass bowl fuel pumps had the valves held in place with a punch like retaining in the fuel pump body. Note the orientation of the valves before you remove them. Another solution and one that I must perform on my 1960 Amazon-S is to use the manual lever, below the fuel pump body, to essentially prime the pump and deliver fuel into the front SU-HS4 on my B16B. Hope this helps.
