Very bizarre spark, yet no spark! 140-160

Hello,

The coil is a new blue Bosch designated as applicable for 140s. To my limited knowledge it doesn't require a ballast resistor and neither the box nor the decals on the coil indicated so. The problem is not new to the coil, as I had a relatively new Flamethrower on there when the problem started. It had been working just fine for a couple months before the problem occured. Yet I swapped it in hopes of fixing the problem, but no cigar. Should I run the red wire to an ignition switch "ON" fuse and bypass the coil "+"? Seems like I read that some BMWs do this. Thanks.
