Kickdown cable 700 1990

Just did this today for the first time. You need to loosen both of the nuts. Can be kinda hard. Loosen them both up quite a bit. Push the rear nut right up against the little bracket in between the nuts. Can you hear the click when you pull on the cable? If yes, you want to turn that nut while pushing it up against the bracket until you just can't hear the click anymore. Turn it so the top of the nut rotates towards the passenger side of the car. This exposes more cable.

Once you find that spot, then tighten the forward nut against the bracket to lock things in place.
